Cumulative Multi-Period Invoice Analysis
Analyzing each upload on its own shows you a single period — but to answer "the full-year supplier table" or "the 12-month trend," every invoice has to gather in one place. That's exactly what cumulative multi-period analysis is for.
One Period Shows a Snapshot, Not the Whole Picture
When you upload a batch and analyze it, you see that period's photograph: that month's suppliers, that month's VAT. Useful, but partial. The strategic questions usually live between periods:
- How much did we pay this supplier across the whole year?
- How did a line item's unit price move over 12 months?
- Which supplier's share is growing quarter over quarter?
None of these answers sit inside a single period — they live in the accumulated data.
The Manual Route: Merging Periods in Excel
The classic workaround is to open each period's table one by one, paste them all into one giant Excel sheet, and then build a pivot over the whole thing. As the number of periods grows, that merge gets brittle: mismatched columns, duplicate rows, formulas that shift out of place.
Anyone can analyze a single period. The real value lies in stacking periods on top of one another to see the trend — and manual merging is precisely where you lose both time and accuracy.
A Cumulative Data Center
EFaturaFlow's Data Center accumulates every invoice you upload at the line-item level. Each period adds a new upload, and the data layers up into a single cumulative table.
Each period you upload your e-invoices, and the system gathers them all into one cumulative data pool.
Every period on one screen: supplier trends, period-over-period movement, line-item price changes, and cumulative totals.
With the pivot table builder, drag the dimensions you want (supplier, period, line item, VAT) into place to create your own cross-tab, then download it as HTML or Excel.
What the Cumulative View Reveals
- Full-year supplier table: total payments to each supplier across all periods.
- Line-item price trajectory: how a product's unit price moves over time.
- Period trend: the direction of total spend and individual line items across months and quarters.
- Pivot table: a drag-and-drop cross-tab built on the dimensions you choose.
Single Period vs. Cumulative: The Practical Difference
| Question | Single-period analysis | Cumulative Data Center |
|---|---|---|
| One month's snapshot | Yes | Yes |
| Full-year supplier view | Manual merge | Ready |
| Line-item price trajectory | Hard | Automatic |
| Cross-tab | Rebuilt every time | Drag and drop |
You can review the Data Center and Detail List plans on the pricing page.
